Introducing the Landcruiser

by on Apr.09, 2010, under Landcruiser

I purchased a 1995 Toyota Landcruiser HZJ75 Troopcarrier with the intent of decking it out to travel around Australia beginning June/July 2010. This particular one I found through the Quokka with almost 400,000km on the clock with a new engine 120,000km ago, rebuilt gearbox and various other work done to it. It’s a stanard straight 6 4.2L Diesel and still has the bench seats in it.

My Landcruiser TroopyI was avoiding purchasing a vehicle that had already been equipped for camping as they have usually travelled 500,000+km and it takes the fun out of equipping it myself. This vehicle started out on a mine site and is thus fitted with a roll cage, was a project car/daily driver for a guy until his kid came along and they upgraded to something a bit more practical. Recently it has been sitting until they decided to sell it.

Sitting room for 8 and 3 in the front.

While it checked out ok through a bit of a look a Gregorys will need to be purchased and at least all lubricants flushed and replaced.I’m not anticipating anything major to come up that needs replacing as most of the work had been performed recently by the previous owner.
